Tea Party of MULAN
Ms. Peipei CHANG, the owner of Mulan Deco Gallery extended an invitation to Mr. Gu from “Xin-yin” Teahouse, Ms. WU Na, a Guqin player of China, Mr. XIE Ren-dem, the owner of a famous antique shop “Gu-Yun-Xuan” in Taipei and Ms. HU Shuo-zhen, a promoter of Taiwan tea culture to get gather in a tea party for soul mates from December 15 to December 19. During the gathering, works of “rockery” by Mr. ZHANG Wang, a contemporary sculptor were exhibited among a dreamy flowery ambient by a floral artist, Ms. Xue Mei. Their “artificial” nature was very life-like while the stainless steel “rockery” giving a high salute to the traditional through a modern gesture. In addition, Mr. ZHU Yu, a contemporary artist’s classic works were presented for the occasional event. Now and then, the modern and the traditional integrate and exclude on the background of the present. Buddhistic music lingers in the air, telling stories through times. What plays along harmoniously is the ethereal rhythm between Ms. WU Na’s fingers. Tea and the Guqin have always been accompanied and echoed with each other. Their souls reunion thousands of years across time. “They say man should stick to the righteous, so does the tea. We, the tea fans have our path to follow. This is an innovative ritual different from the customary one. We abandoned the lengthy and tedious processes of the Japanese tea ceremony and integrated the ancient tea ceremony, Guqin played by Ms. WU Na with modern art works by Mr. ZHANG Wang. Pacifying the state of mind by the sentiment from the past is a pure principium of Chinese tea philosophy. The affairs are segregated from the ritual. We merely need to calm the heart down to the primary innocence, comprehend the sense of “great use” behind the “futility” of the tea ceremony with “five senses”, seize every moment on the instant so that the perfection can be attained”, said Ms. Peipei CHANG with an air of Zen.
